Product Description
Arno Babajanyan wrote the songs that Charles Aznavour carried to the world. The two were close friends — Aznavour, the Armenian-French icon, and Babajanyan, who stayed in Soviet Yerevan and composed. Between classical concert halls and Moscow prizes, he built a body of work that moved in both directions: rigorous enough for conservatories, direct enough for the radio. His "Elegy" remains one of the defining pieces of Armenian music. Most people who have heard Aznavour have heard Babajanyan.
Babajanyan's silhouette reaches upward, arms open — not performing, but pulling. Above him, geometric fragments scatter in gray and red, angular and unresolved. Below, staff lines run clean and straight. His body stands between the two. The design makes the work visible: chaos above, order below, the man in between transforming one into the other. "ARNO" runs vertical on the right.
