Product Description

Some histories are remembered. Others are carried. At the base of this design stands Tsitsernakaberd, the Armenian Genocide Memorial in Yerevan. From its center rises the eternal flame — a symbol of remembrance for the lives lost in 1915. But here, the flame does not end as fire. As it rises, it transforms into three generations held within one another — man, woman, child. What begins as remembrance becomes continuation. The people who were meant to disappear did not. Their language, memory, culture, and identity passed from one generation into the next. The figures are not standing beside the memorial. They emerge from it. Red moves upward through the composition like a bloodline — beginning in the eternal flame and continuing through those who came after. The monument remembers the dead. The figures represent what survived. That is the meaning of Carried Within. The Armenian Genocide is not only something preserved in monuments or history books. For generations of Armenians, its memory has traveled through families — alongside the responsibility to preserve what endured. What was lost is remembered. What survived is carried within.
