Product Description
Garegin Nzhdeh did not fight to expand Armenia. He fought to prevent it from ceasing to exist. In 1920, as Soviet forces moved to incorporate the southern region of Syunik into Soviet Azerbaijan, Nzhdeh led a resistance that held the territory. That resistance is why Syunik is part of Armenia today. He believed that a nation survives through the character of its people — not institutions, not allies, not luck. Will as law. He died in a Soviet prison in 1955.
The composition splits at center: Nzhdeh's face on the left, Khustup Mountain on the right. Both rendered in the same monochrome, at equal scale. His name runs vertically across both halves — the man and the mountain given the same weight. Armenian text overlays the rock face. Below it: KHUSTUP · SYUNIK · 1921. "WILL AS LAW" runs along the bottom. His signature in script on the front chest. The design does not separate the man from the land. It makes them the same thing.
