From the fire came a young man — hair of flame, beard of flame, eyes like suns. His name was Vahagn. He slew the dragon Vishap. Armenians also named the Milky Way after him: the path of the straw thief, after he stole Babylonian straw and scattered it across the sky.Vahagn stands bare-chested, flanked by two serpentine dragons coiling through fire on either side.
